West Valley Football Expectations
  • Participation in the West Valley football program is a privilege!
  • No one will be cut from the football team based on ability. Anyone with desire and effort to meet the requirements of practice may remain on the team.
  • Proper effort and behavior in the academic classes will be a requirement to be in good standing on the team.
  • Continued discipline problems in academic classes may lead to dismissal. The coaching staff will monitor academic progress in all classes and administer incentive training when appropriate.
  • Missing practices may lead to dismissal from the team. Membership on the Wolfpack football team is a commitment that requires help from the whole family.
  • After school practices are mandatory during the fall season. Dentist appointments, driver’s ed., etc. should be scheduled to avoid or at least minimize conflicts and work schedules.
  • Sub varsity teams will serve as scout teams for the varsity team. The goal of all players should be to eventually be varsity players and sub varsity teams allow underclassmen to mature and improve. Their additional role is to serve the varsity in their preparations, pre-game, during, and post-game activities (yard markers, ball boys, lining the field, chain gang, equipment, cameras, duties as assigned)
  • Players must recognize they represent the West Valley football program at all times and are responsible for their behavior on and off the playing field.
  • Players must be coachable. Coaches will push players to be the best person, student, and player they can be. Accepting constructive criticism is what helps us grow.
  • Football is a year round endeavor. Students participating in multiple sports are encouraged to do so. It is imperative players understand increasing their strength and speed will allow them to remain competitive in all sports. Strength training must continue year long.
